Firefly Solar and Gietron Partner to Accelerate Canadian Solar Deployment

Firefly Solar's crews will deploy Gietron's micro-inverters, hybrid inverters, and battery storage from the West Coast to the Maritimes.

CALGARY, AB JUNE 30, 2026

CALGARY, Alberta — June 30, 2026 — Firefly Solar today announced a strategic partnership with Gietron, the Canadian renewable energy hardware brand owned by Gwatt Innovations Ltd., to deploy advanced power electronics, battery storage, and energy management systems on Canadian homes, businesses, farms, and community sites.

The partnership is built around the bottleneck that delays most Canadian clean energy projects: the subcontracted install. By pairing Gietron's hardware with Firefly Solar's in-house engineering and installation teams, both companies remove the third-party handoffs that introduce timeline risk and quality variation. Every Gietron system installed under the partnership will be engineered, permitted, and commissioned by the same Firefly Solar crews. This is the model the company has used to scale its national install footprint.

Firefly Solar's 750-person team will install Gietron's full hardware stack for residential, commercial, agricultural, and Indigenous customers across seven provinces. The stack covers micro-inverters, hybrid inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and intelligent energy management solutions (EMS). Firefly Solar has completed more than 8,700 installations and holds more than 1,800 five-star Google reviews, with every project delivered by engineers certified by APEGA, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, and dedicated in-house installation crews.

"Homeowners and businesses don’t want a technical brochure for solar hardware, they want a reliable solar system that works, cutting their energy bill. Aligning with a Canadian company like Gietron allows us to equip our in-house deployment teams with tier 1 hardware that gets Canadian customers to that point faster," said Kyle McCormick, Co-Founder of Firefly Solar.

"This collaboration between Firefly Solar and Gietron represents more than a business partnership. It is a shared vision for the future of Canadian energy independence, innovation, and long-term sustainability. Together, we are committed to bringing Canadians the leading technologies and supported by local expertise with lasting and dependable service," said Rocky Gao, Founder of Gietron.

Initial deployments under the partnership are scheduled across Firefly Solar's existing service area from British Columbia to the Maritime provinces in 2026, covering residential, commercial, agricultural, and community-scale projects. Firefly Solar will continue to expand its battery storage and electric vehicle (EV) charging offerings using Gietron's integrated platform.
